I have many modules, and it's up to day what I want to fly. ![]() Then I one day noticed that "damn, this aircraft is actually ok". So there I was, pissed by all the screens, but I just flew it. It's nice to fly, though, and it had already taught me to get along without HUD and stuff. I had MiG-21 before Tomcat but I really never learned to fight in it. Not because of the magnificent look but because the intuitiveness I had grown into. I was accustomed to Tomcat and I missed Jester and all those analog gauges so much. At first I hated Hornet since it was a very complicated set of computerized systems full of things I didn't get. Only two aircraft I have not been pissed with while learning were Tomcat (love her) and MiG-19 (still learning). I can't say anything about FC3 modules, but if considering full fidelity you take the path of hard lessons, with prize of as much joy as you can fly a day. I was also shocked when I realized the TF-51 had no armament (pretty essential in an advanced trainer irl). I know the basic download gives you a version of the P51 but I was surprised to find out that it was only a trainer and had no fighting ability. ![]() Originally posted by hunter301:Can you fly combat missions in all of the FC3 planes provided? FC3 as a starting pack is a great way to get into DCS but ultimately you will want the C just for the deeper content. The A is a good introduction to DCS especially if you have no background in sims of this level. The C also has fully functional damage control systems such as manual reversion flight mode. Navigation, weapons configuration and air to air combat are all way WAY more simple than they are in the C. The A is an FC3 grade module meaning a lot of things are simplified. In terms of complexity however they are on completely different planets. It also has a full suite of tutorial missions and more campaigns available to both buy and download. In terms of sim flight model they are similar but A-10C has access to targeting pod and a wider selection of weapons as it is the newer aircraft. As a result the C has more modern systems and access to tech that didn't exist when the A was in service. IRL the A was simply the first version and is older than the C.
